I play for the Rowville Rockets boys under 12’s DR grade team.
This was my 5th basket ball winter season.
It was the most challenging, tough and exciting season.
At the start we were second on the ladder. When we got through the first round of versing everyone, we one every single match.
Because of that we got onto the top of the ladder.
There only one team who can always get close to winning the match… The Wantirna Jetpacks. Every time we would verse them we would be at least two to four points ahead.
In the second round we beat all the teams. In the third round we lost one match… it was against the Wantirna Jetpacks.
They got the revenge they where waiting for.
And the worst of all was that this was the Pre-finals. Luckily we were first on the ladder so we got the second chance.
In that second chance we versed the South East Eagles. They were third, at the end of the Semi-finals we one, 32 to 17.
This meant that we were going to the Grand-finals! But in the Grand-finals we were versing the Wantirna Jetpacks.
All weak everyone in my team trained hard at least 30mins of basketball a day for one weak.
Today was the day, the match was going to start at 11:40am. I had to leave from home at 9:ooam because of the tremendous traffic, also there was going to be a massive cheerleading competition.
We got there at 11:00am and met all the other teammates and their families. We secretly wrote a special card for our coach.
After that we all started making and practicing our new strategies with our coach.
It was 11:39am, we all got into the stadium went to out court and started t warm up.
It struck 11:40am and both teams got ready for jump ball.
Three!
Two!
One!
Our tallest player tapped the ball, I caught then I started running to wards the ring past to my team mate and, scored!
Like this we scored at least 20 points, then it was half time.
We leading by 10 points.
After second half break we jut couldn’t score. The other team just kept on catching up until we were leading by one point.
21 to 20.
With 2 minutes left on the clock.
Our new plan was now to not score in our goal and also at the same time not let the other team score.
So we used this new plan, it worked out pretty well.
Now it was 10 seconds on the clock the pass in was on the opponents side. We had to lock in.
They passed and our tallest player who did jump ball intercepted it. The ball went rolling out.
5 seconds on the board.
2 seconds on the board.
0.1 seconds on the board.
It was done, we one.
WE ONE THE GRAND-FINALS!!!
After our celebration we did all our single and team photos. And because we one all the parents took our team to Boronia Hotel.
It had a massive playground with vending machines, claws machines and all the games you have inside a arcade. I ordered a margarita pizza with orange juice.
THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE!!!
